Does anyone know what decade this snap-on engine analyzer console is from? I guess 1970s, but I'm not familiar with these. Someone gave it to my dad years ago and I'm just trying to learn more about it.

You introduced yourself in the new member forum.
I collect and sell automobila and old engine diagnostic equipment.
So I think we should be asking you the questions.
Good luck with your venture and welcome to Oldgas.

I have a two page ad for sale showing this "Tune-up Center." The ad describes everything it does. It is from 1967,

Thanks for the welcome. I'm just not familiar with these snap-on machines and I haven't seen that many of them around. I've dealt primarily with Sun.

Hi Jack, as I'm new to this forum and still fumbling around - I can't seem to locate the ad you're talking about. I tried searching snap-on and tuneup center and your name, but no go. Do you have a link? Anyway, thanks for the info!

JaHe281, Google "GasPumpBible.com" or get to that URL. That's the most current website Jack has. You can contact him through that website. John

Snap On primarily sold the testers individually that you see housed into the cabinet. They just grouped them all together ... put them in a cabinet and called it a diagnostic center/machine. You could get the test units individually housed just in the little metal case or you could get them mounted on a stand with wheels.

I'm guessing value is not going to be very high ... probably more money in popping them out of the cabinet and selling them that way I would think. Unless you get someone wanting to do a full resto on the whole unit.

Thanks for the response. Tempting to break it up but it feels like it would be sacrilege. Although just the cabinet it's sitting on is pretty cool, people seem to love those.

I would think in this current time, the cabinet would be worth more than the machines.
