Ok, may have asked this years ago, but now I am thinking of selling some of my stuff and would like to keep one side of this. Should I restore and put the neon on, or put the neon on and leave alone. TRUST me not many people want a hammered sign with neon that is for sure, but am willing to listen. This is a very rare sign for the Fleetwing guys for sure. Thoughts ??

If I was going to keep it for display my vote would be to restore. For sure if you are going to do the neon. Every time I walked by it I could only think what it could of looked like restored if it wasn't.

I have been collecting just under 40 years. what I have seen through the years is when it's restored yes looks great but they just don't sell. For the amount of money it cost to do it me not worth it unless you don't care if you ever sell it or for what cost. Match the color and just touch up without filler at least they can see damage and hanging in the air it will look kust fine. Just my opinion.

Put the neon on it and enjoy. Touch it up with Testors paint but dont restore it. My 2 cents.

I personally would leave it as is and put neon on it. When neon is lit, it takes some of the 'scars' away. However, if you want it to look better I agree with Wocopep 100%. Just touch it up with paint, so it can always be removed.

I also would not tear an original sign in half to sell one side. These things are only original once.

Just my preference and 2 cents,
Steve
