See pic. Penn-Drake metal oil can.
A small '65' a long the bottom edge. Could this indicate a year of 1965? I would assume 1965 was getting close to the last of the metal can era? Thanks for any insight.

Not sure about 1965. The triple C logo is Continental Can Company.

Yes it is. That company marked the year of production in that manner.

The 65 denotes which one of Continental Can Companies plants the can was manufactured at, often confused as a date.

thank you, TexacoJoe. It says 1859 on the front of the can. On the back it says 'over 85 years of refining experience'. So, year 1859 plus over 85 years is 1944. And, there are other cans out there that say 'over 90 years refining experience' on the back. So, I wonder if this can is 1944-1949 range?
