This sign appears to be real so I guess I should ask that first. Does it look legit? The seller wants 800 bucks for it but that seems a bit much to me.

Anyone have a good handle on the real value?

Thanks!

Those signs are bringing strong money- even in not so great condition.

that sign is more uncommon than the gasoline/motor oil version
with the texaco/gasoline being the most uncommon .. ... cool

I agreed to pay his asking price but now the old fella has gone silent on me again. Maybe next week I will have this sign on my wall. At least I know it's not going anywhere. lol

So this is for sale now on eBay for more money, but using the EXACT same picture as above, in the eBay listing, and "is the only one I have right now" per the listing.

This smells fishy, like someone selling something they don't own, then using the money to go purchase it, keep the profit, and then ship it to the buyer. Basically a buyer financed loan. I may be wrong but I've seen this happen before.

That is the sign and that is certainly where the seller lives.

Odd thing is that he literally just e-mailed me last night asking me if I still want the sign.

He is of course still hard set at 800 bucks.

I guess I will end this horrible cycle and just buy it.
