i am a little familiar with the value of this sign in decent condition and this sign was badly touched up but what is the value as is? They're asking $350 which seems way too high but also curious if this would be easy to remove the touch up paint on both sides and if so what the value may be?
thanks
Andy

Paint would be easy to remove. Not a rare sign so you may want to just wait for a nicer one unless you can get the cost down.

As with almost any paint, a little paint remover or lacquer thinner will easily remove the touchups....

That is a painted sign (not porcelain)...you put lacquer or paint thinner on it and you will remove original paint as well, not as fast as touched up part but not worth the risk in my opinion.

I agree with Dave that it is a porcelain sign. Never seen a painted one..... not sayin they didn't make a painted one!

I thought they were the same as the " Insulated" sign with the oil can image ...also have a Havoline one, both same size n shape. I don't mess with trying to post photos here anymore, I'm sure you know the signs I'm referring to ??

They were all curb signs. Yes, those are tin. I use to have the green one. This particular sign was only made in porcelain along with the certified service station signs.

Definitely porcelain. It's hard to tell on the computer, but the second pic (of the other side) doesn't look too bad. I would buy that sign all day at $275 - 300, remove the touch-up, and hang it up.
