Personally I'd look for an original. 39 shorts aren't that hard to find parts for.
Oilzum, 1qt Oil Cans, Gas and Oil smalls, Oldsmobile collectables.

I've had good luck with their sheet metal but make sure of the dimensions, all 39's are not the same height. Don't ask how I know. And as previously said originals are out there.

Not only two different heights, some use hinges and some are "lift off" doors. Some also lock at the bottom of the door. Brady

Well gas pump heaven has got 3 sets of different doors, hinged, lift off and lock at bottom with a louver, mine are hinged

I got a door from Gas Pump Heaven and was pleased with it. It fit very well. Make sure you get the right door, the guy I talked to there was very knowledgeable. Only thing is, the doors come without hinge brackets. I had to make my own and have them welded on.

Yeah i noticed i could not see the inside hindge mounts in the pic of the door, I wished they had those on them, does anyone make these inside hindge mounts ?
