Hey all! Im a noob and this is my first post.

Montana born and raised. Professional mechanic, gear head, picker, pack rat.
you know all the good old stuff im into, from old hand painted signs to old tools to cool cars we all bleed some variation of 30wt.

Recently going through grandmas estate these showed up and everybody agreed they were mine, i did a little poking around and couldn't find any similar. i actually didn't realize these were a popular collectable... any info is great.

I'll be showing off some more of my old junk as i get time and quality pics.

Tanks! [img]http://

Ted, Welcome to Oldgas. I collect the plastic gas pump salt and pepper sets. I have seen these Frontier ceramic sets come up for sale periodically on eBay through the years. I'm guessing I have seen them 4 or 5 times in the past 15 years, so not very common but not unique. Here's a picture of my plastic Frontier set.

Ted, I went back and looked at my set and discovered they are from the same station in Lusk, WY. I've added a shot of the backside.

I wonder if those frontier ceramic shakers weren't made by Messer Ceramics, from Bowman North Dakota, in the 50's. I will research it some more and see what I can come up with. Messer made a set similar to these but advertising Farmers Union. Anything from Messer would have decent value, let alone gas pumps. I'll get back to you.

Thanks for the info! I don't think they will be going up for sale but kindof cool to know they are somewhat desirable. Cool piece for my collection for sure. I looked into the messer stuff and kindof doubt that these would be one of theirs, A. Some sort of decal or stencil was used for the inscription not likely for that scale of "artist" also there are no markings or signature and everything I've seen of theirs has a signature even if it's hidden with glaze.
Thanks again for all the great feedback!
