I have an opportunity to buy the Hi-Speed sign in the first picture below. The sign has the unique black and green sponge-paint look to the background color. The gentleman says it's worth about $4800.

Does anyone have an idea of what this sign would be worth? Sorry for the bad picture, it is all I have to go on. Few quarter and half-dollar sized nicks in field. I do not even know if this sign is double sided. If it is, lets assume the other side is in similar condition.

The first picture is the sign in question. The second picture is a sample pic from the internet.

The size is about 30" x 42" (but that's a guess).

It's a cool sign - but that seems on the high end of the spectrum to me. If it were mint, perhaps one could justify that.... It's hard for anyone else to say what something is worth to you though smile

Its a really nice early sign, but to be worth the amount mentioned, the damage should be minimal.

Ok thanks guys. I had a few PM's also. Judging on comments etc, I'm thinking $3500 would be what this sign (in question) is worth. Thanks again Old Gas members.

I would still like to hear more opinions, if anyone has any expertise with this sign.

Thanks again,
Steve
