Google Fort McMurray wildfire, it's a terrible sad place in northern Alberta Canada right now!

It does not sound good. I saw over on yellowbullet a post with some videos. A local guy on yellowbullet who owns a gas station said he was giving away free gas and diesel in order to help people evacuate the city. Sounds like maybe half of the town is burnt?

I had ski patrol training last night at the hospital here in town, I could smell the fire when I walked outside.

Yikes, stay safe people!

I saw the maps that show the extreme drought is not limited to the Fort McMurray. It's most of Alberta...

I was watching the news last night. They played some videos from residents while they were driving away from town. Hotels, gas stations, restaurants, homes, ect all on fire. Most of the residents that were recording videos were crying. I feel like I need to drive up there and do something. I cant imagine.

They said on the news Donate to Canadian Red Cross to help victims. As a retired FireFighter I can only imagine how overwhelmed those FireFighters are,not to mention the people who have lost everything.

It was the least we could do to help out! And thanx Dave Richmond (red Indian guy) for your donation. Was pretty sad seeing these people enjoying a nice meal knowing some have nothing to go back home to! Red Cross is accepting cash donations, if anyone can help out at all, it really helps! You never know when it might be you in this situation! Thx Old Gas people!

Apparently the Federal and Provincial Governments are matching donations made for the Fort Mac fires.

But please specify that the donation is for the AB fire emergency otherwise it will go into the general pool of the organization your donating to. The Red Cross of Canada has a fund set aside for AB.
