Folks,

I have meant to ask this question for a while ...

Why is that most Pegasus Porcelain signs have "leg injuies" almost in the same areas (lower Front + rear) legs:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271920749070

How does it happen?

Thanks,

Hen

...they got dropped, and that's the weakest point of the sign...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Hen, as Mark said..

Also, the earliest versions of the Pegasus that I've owned and/or seen; did not have the re-enforcing gusset/piece that later versions had... So a strong gust of wind could catch the leg as if it were a sail and bend it out. (depending on the strength of the wind)...

Looking for Tide Water/ Tide Water-Associated/ Tidewater items

Bob,

I agree with you 100%.

However, during shows, I am busy running around & looking for stuff (of course with my head cut off, LOL!). What are the chances I might get this particular answer (by Mark & Bob) from say a group of 10?

I still think "OG" is the best way to ask & learn about this hobby!

Of course, these are my opinions only!

Hen, I would say your chances of getting the answer from a group of 10 at a show would be excellent. As good as this forum is, only a small percentage of collectors participate here.

I noticed the other day Cheeseman is selling reproduction legs.
Horsey has legs as Mick says.

Loyd,

You mentioned: Reproduction legs

But, Not for these types of "porcelain signs", right?

Loyd,

For the sake of clarity, the "Reproduction" parts (Two legs and a tail) are for the sign known as the "Cookie-Cutter".

Am I correct?

BTW, found the link on eBay:
