Hello Everyone! I finally got an ad glass top for my M&S 80. My Question is this: There is a large hole right in the center of the top. I think it was ment to be there. Has anyone ever seen this hole in there pumps and what is it for? I was planning on getiing it filled at a sheet metal shop.

Mike, I haven't messed with the M&S 80 but i would guess that a script top wouldn't have a hole for a globe but maybe one with ad glass would have the hole. Put a globe on it if it's just an ad glass top.

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

Mine has that same hole and was wondering what it was for also. Mine has what looks like a bolt in it. The hole on mine is too small for a globe... even for a bulb socket for that matter...

I have the same thing on my M/S 80 and was wondering what it was for. Mine has a threaded plug in it. Someone out there knows what these were used for.

Just a thought, maybe it was for the advertising spinners that some companys used instead of globes.

Price flag maybe? Kinda like what the Tokheim 39s have coming out of the top of one of the sides.

I don't think it was for a globe, as it is too big for a lamp socket fitting, and there are no marks from a globe ring. I think I will have it filled, as I want to go globeless on this pump.
