I never usually ask a question like this but what did my good friend Kyle Moore's round one of a kind jeweled sign sell for at the auction and was it made for a special occasion? Many thanks and RIP to the man that helped me the most in the early 80s when I started collecting. Thank you. Rob

Double sided with a rotating light mechanism internally that actually worked! Must be tremendous at night, all lit up! I hope I get to see it in person some day!

The logo looks like the chimney cap globe from the teens/early twenties ? I'm still guessing a State or World's Fair, A Vip, or an Office Building New York ? Who bought it ? It was shown in Rick Pease's "A Tour With Texaco" in 1997 maybe he knows.

The buyer turns out to be a good friend of mine, and when he saw my post, he invited me over to see it! Now, this has to be planned out a bit, because its a pretty good journey to his place, but well worth the trip to get to view a sign like this all wired up and in action!
He does have a photo of it on the roof of a station circa the 30's, but has no information other than that. He's good friends with Rick Pease, so no missed information there, but surely someone, somewhere, has seen this sign or pictures of it, or heard rumors about it in the past? My friend would like to know more about this fantastic piece, if anyone can shed any light on it?? I sure would be interested in knowing more about it too, as I'm sure other collectors would.

Kevin,
If/when you get to see it. If it turns out to be worth seeing in motion, try to shoot a video with your phone and post it up for us.
I would love to see it in motion.

Wasn't there a Skelly sign like that in the auction as well?

Yes, there was a square shaped Skelly sign that was double sided with an internal mechanism that rotated, as well! Pretty cool stuff!

My friend just sent me a short video of the sign as they first turned it on! He gave me permission to post it on here for everyone to view, so hopefully I have done this correctly and you will be able to view it.
