I'm the first to admit, I'm slow with projects. But I'm finally done with a clock I have had 'in-process' for about a year.

took it all apart and painted the outer casing. sent off the trim ring and side accents to get chromed. cleaned everything else up, took the mechanism apart and reset the motor's gears into the right positions.

every little part of the clock is 100% original, only thing i ended up having to replace was the cord & bulbs of course.

it came out really good, the face is backlit... ill try to get a picture of it lit up tonight.

ha, nope Kevin. not a bad idea, but with this one being backlit and in such good shape, i didnt want to mess anything up with a cheap decal.

i did do a decal on my last one though... for some reason these old electric clocks really appeal to me, i just love the old metal bodies and lines...

Bryce,

Are you going to place the "Cities Service" clock in the forum:

you are more than welcome to... but there's already a whole thread in the OG archives explaining/showing that I added the decal... http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=484011

Bryce,

I am surprised ...

What is the purpose of the forum, then?

The link you provided, is not visible to folks joining OG.

Regards,

Hen

Hen,

the link is visible to anyone that knows how to enter a search phrase.

sometimes common sense has to be used as well.

for instance, is everyone posting every picture of an item with a decal in that forum? No... because when you see an old GE fridge with a pegasus on it, you know that its just a GE fridge with a pegasus on it.

if you saw my clock, there would be no question it was just an added decal... but if you weren't certain, a simple search of the OldGas google search tool would yield a whole thread about how I redid the clock... and that search would take a fraction of the time that it would to scroll thru the 'unmarked petro' section.
