Did not want to steal Ryan's thread about the 2-Gallon cans ...

http://oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=634864&gonew=1#UNREAD

So, I decided to ask my question with this thread.

I often see uncommon company names, mostly with 2-Gallon cans.

Who did these companies operate under? These are the four from Ryan's thread:

SERVICE
RAVENOYL
PROTEX
VALUE

Thanks,

Hen

Service was a brand of Service Oil of Albemarle, NC
Raven Oyl was a brand of Lakeshore Oil of Chicago.
Protex was a brand of Apex Oil of St, Louis
I cant place the company for Value.
All are smaller, regional brands.
Service produced that 2 gallon in the 1950s or early 60s, all others are 1930s.

Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.
