So what would have been the colors then, Black and orange ?

boy I`m just guessing Black and Orange since they used those colors on their first oil and grease cans but who knows could be something different..love to have that pump with starburst cans in it,,be very cool and colorfull!!!

There is a pump on ebay that has a nice looking color combination for Tydol, wonder how close that is to original.

I think you are trying to read too much out of a few pictures.

Any local distributor who owned a few stations might have purchased a few and put them in his stations, but the only company that appears to have tried to put a display pump in every location was Firestone.

about 15 years ago I purchased a Wayne 60s display pump at an estate sale in Lincoln, Illinois that was Tydol all the way, complete with the old rancid black gasoline stains around the leaky sight glasses which was common.The pump had been painted white but the ad. glass and the globe were black and orange and white.Tydol was not very common in central Illinois, but that one survived a long time.
