A yard ornament, I just had to take a picture !
Too me it looks like an old garbage truck, am I right? If so Thunder will be in "hog heaven", LOL.
NEAT STUFF! I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH THIS MORNING TO BE ABLE TO WALK AROUND A FARMERS YARD NEARBY AND SHOOT ABOUT A DOZEN PRE-1960 TRUCKS JUST SITTING IN THE YARD COLLECTING "PATINA!" LOL! CHEVIES, GMC'S, INTERNATIONALS AND FORDS. ONE FORD EVEN HAD A GMC GRILL GUARD....NOW THAT JUST AIN'T RIGHT! LOL!
LOVE THOSE OLD "FAT-FENDERED" OLDIES!
It called a "Collection Vehicle". That would be cool though!!!
Is that like calling the garbageman a "refuse engineer", lol? You guys do fantastic work, I know that I would be lost without "refuse" pickups. Plus the trucks have all kinds of great "gadgets" on them.
Would look great in Thunders yard of Collection Trucks !
i was gonna say "sanitation engineer"" no matter what thunder always comes up smelling like roses!!
Yepper, Clean it up a bit and an R.T. Services Logo....Awww beautiful

SEVERAL SHOTS FROM MY FARMYARD VISIT YESTERDAY.
ANYBODY NOTICE WHAT'S ATTACHED TO THIS "GMC" GRILL GUARD? LOL!!
NICE POTATO TRUCK TRIO!
(I USED TO PAINT THOSE BEDS DURING THE SUMMER AS A TEENAGER ON ANOTHER FARM).
Seems to me that GMC grill guard would be safer mounted behind the grill!
Doc, last one is a Reo from late 40's to early 50's.
Nice pics as usual Doc. Everybody needs an old truck.
Doc, last one is a Reo from late 40's to early 50's.
I WAS GUESSING IT TO BE A REO AS WELL. THANKS FOR THE CONFIRM!
Wow, I must have been on a crack high to miss all these cool photos. Thanks for the pictures.
Mike
Doc love the old abandoned car & truck pics
Hey Doc, how about Photoshopping some old gas pumps into the beds of the blue and green trucks in your first photo? I was kinda daydreaming that. LOL
Cool trucks! I've got a T-shirt with a graphic of an old trash truck very similar to the one starting this topic. It says, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Words to live by.
FUNNY/COOL STORY TONIGHT....
LAST NIGHT (SUNDAY) AFTER WATCHING A FEW YOUTUBE VIDEOS I EVENTUALLY GOT INTO WATCHING VIDEOS OF OLD ABANDONED AUTO JUNK YARDS...MOST WAY OUT IN THE BACKWOODS OF PENN OR GEORGIA ETC. LOTS OF 60'S AND OLDER CARS LEFT TO ROT AND I WAS PSYCHED....LIKE I NEED TO FIND THE ONE IN PENN SINCE GA IS A TAD FAR AWAY FROM HERE.
FAST FORWARD TO TONIGHT. I'M ON MY WAY TO A 2-ROOM SCHOOLHOUSE FOR A GATHERING AND PRESENTATION BY A FRIEND OF MINE TO TALK ABOUT LONG ISLAND HISTORY. I GET THERE BEFORE ANYBODY AND HAVE A 1/2 HOUR TO KILL.
SO I WANDER INTO THE WOODS ACROSS THE STREET WHERE I MUST'VE FOUND OVER 3 DOZEN PRE-1960 CARS AND TRUCKS... A FIRETRUCK AND EVEN A GAS PUMP (GILBARCO 96 OR 98 STYLE) STREWN ABOUT THE WOODS. 1 HOUSE WOULD BE BLOCKING YOUR VIEW FROM THE ROAD AND I DIDN'T SEE THESE FROZEN IN TIME
WRECKS UNTIL I WAS A GOOD 150' INTO THE WOODS!
COINCIDENCE? VERY MUCH SO! FORDS, NASH'S, STUDES, CHRYLSERS, INTERNATIONALS, CHEVY'S, CADDY'S, PLYMOUTH'S AND ON AND ON. UNFORT THE SUN WAS SETTING QUICKLY AND I HAD ONLY 20 MINUTES TO SNAP AWAY.
DEF GOING BACK AGAIN SOON TO SHOOT ON AN OVERCAST DAY!
HOPE TO HAVE PICS UP SOON!
LIFE IS GOOD!
Looks like a late Forties Diamond Reo. Ed Shaver
HERE IS THE ABANDONED JUNKYARD I SHOT MONDAY NIGHT AND AGAIN YESTERDAY. I FOUND OUT THAT THE PROPERTY BELONGS TO LONG ISLAND REDNECKS THAT DON'T ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE THEY SHOOT. SOME OF THE FARMERS UP MY WAY SAID I AM A LUCKY PERSON TO BE ALIVE! WHEW THAT!

A truck restorer was looking for a tanker to put behind his 1951 Brockway & I knew of this trailer that was located at on old fenced foundry brown field.
I called the former tanker owner who said they sold to a cement plant for temporary storage. The plant is gone & somehow the tanker got accross the road to the brown field.
We called the township, EPA, & DEQ & nobody could authorize its sale.
There is about 6" tree growing between the bumper & tank of this 1957 Heil.
If the cement plant no longer exists as a business, I would suggest the would be buyer, inquire of the BMV about getting such a title changed and the process to do it. Odds are from where it sets, nobody can authorize it's sale (because they don't actually own it) and No Body is going to come looking for it if it disappears.
FROM SAME JUNKYARD THAT I PREVIOUSLY POSTED PICS FROM:
Doc;
Love what you do with those car pic's. Awesome!!!

This one isn't old, but with the skirting it makes for a classy unit.
Well old Iron, I guess I got to break down, and buy a nice camera, use your place for a good back drop, and shoot some pictures of that W900 KW and tanker all polished up. before it snows and get all messed up.
Hi Guys,
I really like trucks; old and rusty, restored or really nice newer ones. I've been thinking about using one as "yard art"at my place. Jim thats a good idea about putting a rusty pump in the bed. I'll give that some thought; I've got all the stuff. Has any one else done something like that? If that's high jacking a thread, I apologize.
STARE AT THIS ONE A BIT...IT'LL START TO LOOK COOL AFTER A WHILE! LOL!
Here's a few I took in Texas a couple years ago.
Motel Yard Art
I ask a old guy onetime ,if he would sale me the old junk truck in the yard? He told me to stop by later, because he had a doctors appt. As I was pulling out, he jump in the old junk truck and left! I just smiled and waved!!! LOL... Nice photo's
If it wasn't for the NO TRESSPSSING sign I would taken a close up. My guess it is about a 1955 ???? Matches one of the truck blotters on another post.
ACTUALLY THE '50 LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A MORE PRONOUNCED CENTER HUMP IN THE HOOD. ALSO LESS BARS IN THE GRILL THAT LOOKS A BIT MORE ROUNDED THAN THE ONE IN DAVES SHOT.
Your right I did not look at it that close. I have never seen any trucks like these. Way different than the truck models or COE. More of a big rig look.
Maybe A heavier model more like the one in the center of this page.
http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/page0196.html
That is a diesel model. I would have to get my GMC literature out for a model number. They made this style until 58 or 59. They came out with a flat nose tilt cab in 59.
MORE GMC.....
My guess it is about a 1955 ???? Matches one of the truck blotters on another post.

MATT, AWESOME MID-LATE 50'S GMC'S IN THE ROUGH! LOVE THAT PATINA!
HOW ABOUT A LATE 40'S IH-KB5?
Doc, I really like your photographs. Do you have a flickr account or someplace on the web that showcases your work?
THANKS! SOME OF MY LOCAL SCENIC STUFF IS ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE. I DON'T HAVE AN OLD CARS/TRUCKS ALBUM YET....BUT DEF HAVE A FEW 100 SHOTS OUT OF MANY 1,000'S I'VE SHOT. HOPE TO GET THEM UP SOMEDAY ON FACEBOOK.
TIME TO PLAY "FIND THAT TRUCK!"....AT LEAST TELL US WHAT KIND OF TRUCK IT IS WHEN YOU KNOW! LOL!
Looks to be a 48-53 Chevy 1-1/2 or 2 ton truck. The vines have just about claimed it.
YES I GUESS. I'LL SAY THIS...IT'S A POTATO TRUCK, SO I ASSUME THE WEIGHT SIZE COULD BE HIGHER?

Came upon this old wrecker today in northern N.M.
Looks like a 1930's Dodge
BACK IN THE DAY WHEN THE NAMEPLATE READ "DODGE BROTHERS."
VERY COOL RUST!
If you look at the writing on the door it says Bee line wheel aligning.
I`M LIKING THAT TRUCK A LOT!!! I CAN SEE IT IN BLACK AND ORANGE!!! WHAT ELSE....!!!!!
it even has factory suicide doors!! chris
That would make a nice truck, was it For Sale?

HERE'S ANOTHER FROM LAST SUNDAY....
This late 1930's Ford truck has stack of springs that is huge !
It looks like a kit or after market tag axle as the center pivot & axle are made by Acme.
Mmmmm...we ate there while we were visiting friends that live in Jackson. Very good food!
We took a weekend trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming last weekend and saw this truck. Saw 2 drive inns, it would be neat if there was one left in Spokane
..a very symmetric Ford, I should say ;-). Great picture!
THAT'S NOT A FORD....IT'S A FOOF! SE THE NAMEPLATE? LOL!
My guess is that it is a Chevy.
I GOTS NEWS FOR YA...ALL MY PICS ARE PS'd!
TO ME THIS IS ONE COOL OLD CAR...
THE 1929 RUXTON WITH A VERY UNUSUAL PAINT JOB FOR THE TIME. IT IS CURRENTLY OWNED BY AN ELDERLY FRIEND OF MINE WHO AT ONE TIME HAD MANY ONE OFFS AND LOW NUMBER PRODUCED CARS FROM THE TEENS AND 20'S. I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOOT THE CAR THE OTHER DAY WHILE SHOWING HIS MUSUEM TO A FRIEND OF MINE....
I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FIRST FRONT WHEEL DRIVE PRODUCTION CAR!
http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/192633,13497,0,0/photo.aspx
Man, I just picture Elton John behind the wheel of that one.
AND THAT'S NOT A BAD THING! LOL!
"LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS........"
ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT HOOD ORNAMENT IS FROM?
I found a website that shows one like it,that said it was from a 1941 Chevy Deluxe. If it is from that vehicle in the background that isn't a Chevy Deluxe. That is a different location for a spot light on that other pickup. I had one that was through the top of the cab. It always leaked when it rained & it was head knocker as well.

This tractor was a sub unit from our leasing company that wasn't suited for the trailer it was pulling because with the frame so long & the gearing so high that between the driveline wrap & the frame flexing you wondered if one of the front wheels was coming off the ground before you got it moving when loaded.

GREAT BOOK, BOB! PICKED IT UP LAST YEAR. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I was out driving around today and took my camera with and only found this one truck to take a picture of.
NICE JASON, I'D TAKE THAT LONG BED IN A HEARTBEAT!
SHOT THESE THE OTHER DAY.....
Found this beauty at our first port of George Town, Cayman Islands. The company Tortuga is famous for making rum. The badge on the hood shows 3100 so it should handle lots of barrels of rum.
Mike
Now that's a truck I would like to have, especially loaded with it's cargo of "liquid gold". LOL
I KNOW THIS ISN'T AN OLD TRUCK, BUT YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS WALKING THE DOG IN AN UNUSUAL PLACE ALONG THE BOULEVARD, I SPOTTED THIS 1965 BUICK GS FOR SALE. THE SIGN SAID IT WAS RARE WITH THE 425 NAILHEAD ENGINE. I NEVER KNEW THIS CAR EXISTED! SO IT MUST BE RARE! LOL! PURDY TOO!
Whats a nailhead engine ? Never heard that before.
WIKIPEDIA....
425
425 cu in (7.0 L) 425
This was the largest version of the "Nailhead". It began as an option in 1963 on the Riviera and it was later available on the Wildcat and Electra models too. The 1964 and 1966 Riviera had the 425 engine as standard equipment.
4 barrel carburetion was standard on all 425 "Nailheads" that were called "Wildcat 465". The "465" sticker on the air cleaner did not denote engine displacement as many thought, it denoted the torque rating. It was possible to order two 4 barrel carbs, which were delivered in the trunk along with the intake manifold and installed by the dealer. This version was called "Super Wildcat" and could be ordered on the 1965 Riviera Gran Sport and the 1966 Wildcat GS as RPO Y48. Toward the end of the 1966 model year, approximately May 1966, Buick offered the Super Wildcat 465 with dual 4BBL Carter AFB's as a factory installed option. This engine is coded "MZ" while the dealer installed dual four barrel setup was a "MW" coded engine. There were only 179 1966 Riviera GS cars built with the MZ coded factory dual four barrel setup, making it a very rare car. Rarer still was the 1966 Riviera GS, MZ coded engine, in Riviera Red exterior color.
MORE ABOUT THE CAR.....
Skylark Gran Sport
The 1965 Skylark Gran Sport was the intermediate Buick Skylark with the Gran Sport option added. Although a 300 cu in (4,916 cc) V8 was already offered in the Skylark, the Gran Sport had the largest engine permitted by GM - a 400 cu in (6,555 cc) Buick V8. This engine was actually 401 cu in (6,570 cc), but called a "400" by Buick because that was the maximum engine size limit set by General Motors for the intermediate body cars. This engine produced 325 hp (242 kW) and 445 ft·lbf (603 Nm) and was known as the "nailhead" engine. Buick sold more than 15,000 Skylarks with the Gran Sport option that first year, and almost as many the next. It was renamed the GS 400 in 1967, and the Gran Sport became its own model in (about) that same year along with a new "400" engine quite different from the notoriously reliable but growingly obsolete nailhead engine design that was first introduced in 1953. Sales fell somewhat in the face of increasingly higher-performance and more popular muscle cars from other marques when compared to those from the more stodgy and expensive Buick. Buick, however stepped it up a notch when introducing the Stage 1 option in 1969. This limited production (less than 1,500 cars in 1969) version delivered 340 hp (253 kW) and 440 ft·lbf (597 Nm).
The name Gran Sport replaced the GS moniker with the 1973 Gran Sport, and was again revived in the late eighties on the FWD Skylark model with various performance options added.
Some friends of mine recently bought an old farm and this old Chevy was left behind. It's been sitting in the same spot since 1980 and most likely will be there another 30 years.
Here's another old Chevy I'm working on buying. It's a one owner truck with a 327, 4-spd and factory air. The camper has been on there from day one.
ANOTHER COLORFUL SPECIMEN....
WENT TO LOOK AT A TRUCK FOR SALE TODAY.
A '53 INT'L SNAPPED A FEW PICS AND THOUGHT I'D SHARE ONE.
I KINDA LIKED IT, BUT I'M A RED TRUCK LOVER. SO I STOPPED AND SNAPPED A SHOT OF THIS '56 INT'L ABOUT A MILE FROM MY HOUSE IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE GARAGE (USED TO BE A TEXACO 40+ YEARS AGO). THE OWNER WASN'T IN, SO I DON'T KNOW THE DEAL ON WHY IT'S THERE. I ALSO LIKE THE GRILL AND HEADLIGHT LOCATION COMPARED TO THE '53-'55 STYLE.
I've got a collection of IH truck emblems. To me,it's interesting to note that the blue PU has the IH emblem in the grille and the red one has International spelled out and the Model Number on the cab.
We don't see many IH PU's out here.I would be all over the blue one to go with my KB-7;love the stepsides.Especially if all four of the hubcaps are there.I've never seen one of those before.
Thanks for posting Doc,BTW,the blue one would become a red one to mathh my KB-7.LOL.
THE BLUE ONE DID HAVE THE "INTERNATIONAL" EMBLEM LIKE THE RED ONE HAS BUT IT WAS NOT THERE AS WELL AS THE MODEL NUMBER....YOU CAN ALMOST SEE THE HOLES.
IT HAS A 6CYL SILVER DIAMOND 220 C.I. ENGINE WITH A 3 ON THE TREE. $5,850

Not trucks, but I saw a few cars in this post already...
Here is a 58 Willys FC-170 I recently sold...
THAT 58 WILLYS IS A NEAT OLD RIDE. I REMEMBER SEEING THEM AS A KID THINKING HOW UGLY THEY WERE. FUNNY HOW TASTES CHANGE WITH KNOWLEDGE AND TIME.
DID NOT KNOW WILLYS EVEN MADE THIS STYLE. I KNOW I-H DID THEN FOLLOWED BY FORD, DODGE AND CHEVY, ETC. HOWEVER WHEN I WAS A YOUNG LAD, MINE WAS A TONKA.

Yeah, Willys is the only one I know just like this, for personal use, not commercial. They made tons of variations, mainly the 170, and the 150 seen above this post. They made crew cabs, motorhomes, vans, etc.

NEW FOUND OLD TRUCKS!....
I love the pics, guys. I am partial to Old (late 30's-early 40s) Willys pick-ups and late 40s-early 50s Studebaker trucks myself. I think I will cruise Simi and snap a few truck pics and ad them to the mix. Lucky you, Doc, with all those places to look at old cars!!! Dave Folck
Couple I took last week of a Big ol dual wheel model A truck did go back today and fought my way thru all the vines and prickers finally but forgot my camera of course, thing is rotted gone there is also a 4 door '30-1 Model A buried in the vines got up to that one also and nothing left of that either they looked lots better from 40+ feet away. I have been picking this property for the last 1 1/2 years but its about done
but owners have been great to deal with!
Here's a couple more oldies from my new find.....
Gee, the service at that station is sure slow.
Doc, there must have been some strong IHC & GMC dealerships around your area. Lots of them in your pics.
Could be Sam....never really paid too much attention. But if you take into consideration the Rust Buckets of the future being driven 'round here today, It's mostly Chevy over Ford with Dodge as a close 3rd.

SPOTTED THIS ONE ON A PRIVATE ROAD ONE MORNING WHILE OUT BIKE RIDING....
SAME TRUCK THAT NICOLE POSTED AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE BUT TODAY 8.11.11
Spotted these 2 when we stopped to look at a guys car! How cool is that!
Love the delivery
The toy craftsman shared this photo with me since he made several 1/8 scale of this. This is a CUSTOM wrecker from a PACKARD. It rests in a museum somewhere in the States.
I know of an 80 year old mechanic who used to work on Packards. So, I shared the photo with him & asked if Packard corp. made wreckers.
His answers: "NO"! He also told me why someone chose a Packard. So, let me pick your brain. Do you know why?
Because they had that huge V12 engine in them with a high ratio rear axle. One set out in a wrecking yard here in Cheyenne made out of a convertible coupe with the boom comng out of the trunk. It set there for at least 20 years next to a 1939 Buick convertible that I wanted so bad I could taste it. Finally they all disappeared because somebody came though town and bought every collectable car he had. Mitch
Mich,
I can just picture you & Clarence together. That is exactly what Clarence told me.
Now the 1/8 scale of the WRECKER in steel...
This toy truck has model look to it but I still consider it a toy. An extraordinary workmanship. All done by hand.
This is the kind of talent one can find in good'ol USA!

Since I live in Long Island's Vineyard Belt, A couple months after I bought my '53 GMC Yard Truck, I got the idea to make my own personally Branded Wine Labels Incorporating a Couple pics of my truck. I printed them out and affixed them to a couple of wine bottles provided by friends (I don't drink Wine).
I sat them in my Kitchen windows and within 30 Months, the ink jet prints were getting faded from the natural indirect light (they never saw sun). So I recently (this afternoon) affixed real photographs of the same labels to the same bottles. Hoping these last alot longer....we'll see(?).
Hey, I eat at the resturant that the Ford panel is at offten. They have a Wayne 866 inside and lots of cool old stuff. It is in Placerville Ca. just up the hwy from me.
Spotted some new stuff this past weekend to add here.
I BELIEVE THIS IS A 1926 FORD MODEL "T" WHICH WAS DONATED LAST YEAR TO THE LOCAL TOWN OF CUTCHOGUE'S HISTORICAL SOCIETY. DONATED BY A GUY
WHO HAD QUITE A LARGE UNIQUE VEHICLE COLLECTION. MANY ONE OF A KINDS AND LOW NUMBER PRODUCTION CAR NAMES THAT NEVER LASTED VERY LONG. I MET HIM 6 YEARS AGO WHEN HE WAS HAVING HIS 1929 RUXTON RESTORED IN HIS SHOP. I BEFRIENDED HIM AND HE TRUSTED ME TO SHOW FRIENDS AND FAMILY HIS MUSEUM WHEN HE COULD NOT. Neighbor had his chebby out today.very rare to see him driving it.he restored. It about 20 years ago.
Was going through some old slides and found this...my old truck after we removed the barn that landed on it. I have a ranger now (all we could afford) and like it, but miss the smooth ride of this one. Would still be driving it if it wasn't for the tornado. This was my first new vehicle, factory ordered in '84 with heavy duty springs and suspension plus duel gas tanks, known later as suicide tanks...
The suspension did not tolerate the tonnage from the barn though and I think both front and rear axles broke--you cant see it too good but the front and rear wheels are leaning in different directions.
Oh my Goodness. That tornado turned the CHEVROLET backwards!!!!!!!
Mike
Seen this '34 Ford last year at the Goodguys meet at Kansas Speedway, but forgot to take a pic of it. Glad it showed up again this year.
Tornados do do wierd things! LOL
I saw this 49 a month or so back when I went to buy my 50,but forgot to take a picture.I got back up there for work today so I stopped. It's a shame it's just sitting outside a truck stop and repair center. The V8 flattie is still under the hood.

It will make a great sign hauler!
this one runs and drives....BUT with a 6:30 gear ratio 46mph is max...so it motorhome chassis ,440-6pack, airride ,22 semi wheels and a 14' flatbed.....
2 SHOTS OF THE SAME CHEVY FROM UPSTATE NY LAST WEEKEND...
Doc;
I love these old truck photos you post... but some old farmer is going to shoot you out in his field someday....
Hazards of the job I suppose....
Quite on the contrary....I always ask the farmers before I shoot! ....and It's not a job, it's an adventure! LOL!
I love your "Adventure"... keep'em coming.
THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS.

Looks like it ought to be a hoot to drive.
Terry:
Kool ride. There's a whole bundh of stuff on that ride that most people have never seen all together.

Including me. This guy is a machinist by trade and is about the best mechanic I've ever met.He builds one rig of some kind every year and he's about done it all with a set of wheels and a steering wheel. He made the steering wheel on it a take-off. He could command some big bucks in the right place. To top it off he's a former bronc rider from out west. Doc post up the pics I sent ya and remember to fly the flag on Veterans Day.
Johnny Cash would be proud... "It was a '49, '50, '51, '52 ....
Here are a couple of Step side trucks from Sweden - saw the Chevy on our parking lot at work (IT company?!), the Ford is advertised on our "craigslist".

Spotted this one for sale roadside the other day in my local travels....
1957 I-H.
Doc as always; very nice photographs. A common theme in all the pictures from your local area are the custom made grille guards. Is that just common to the area where you live or was that a common practice in the 40-50's in all jurisdictions? I have not noted them to be that common locally during travels in the Northwest.
Sure wasn't common for the midwest. You never see grill guards on the old trucks around here.
I personally think they are ugly. I would rather see the grill virgin w/o the guard. It could be that some local guy was selling these custom made to the farmers made from iron flatbar.
I personally think they are ugly.
ditto- I second that, looks like someone tied a iron headboard on front. (but a fancy iron head board)
This 50's Dodge pick-up sitting on the movie set for “Inside Llewyn Davis,” at Buzz's SKELLY circa 1961 but filmed 3.19.12 locally...
Couple of nice trucks at the car show earlier. Depends on your tastes which one you like more!

Did you get a picture of the trailer?
That thing has to be over 70 feet long! I can't even imagine that thing flying down the road. I wonder if there's more than one out there. If not that's a million dollar ride!
That is a high class "executive bus". Thanks for the pictures.
Now that is cool there!!!!
STOPPED ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO ANSWER MY CELL AND SPOTTED THIS TRUCK IN AN OLD FARMYARD...
I'M THINKING THERE COULD BE OTHERS!
HOW NOW BROWN COW....
Spotted this on way home from Reed's.
If it had been Black, I'd have thought it was Jason delivering a Load of SNOW!
Yesterday the local garage mechanic/owner showed me this ragged old truck sitting behind some bushes not visible from the main road. He thought it was an International, I thought not. The owner came out and chatted with us. Turns out we have mutual friends and it a Studeous-Bakeous....like I thought just from the angle of the windshield.....
The owner, now retired says a possible RATROD project could be in the works. He also said he's owned this truck since 1962 and drove it until the early 80's.
Local '59 Ford Ranchero on main street....
That '59 Red Ranchero is WAY COOL!
An old, tired REO.

MY YARD ORNAMENT CHEVY NOSE IS MISSING A COUPLE TEETH, SO I USED A LIC PL8 TO MAKE A BRIDGE.....
ZIPPED PAST THIS PANEL SITTING ROADSIDE THE OTHER DAY AND STOPPED THURSDAY EVENING TO SEE WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT. THE LACK OF A FOR SALE SIGN AND REAR DOORS STOPPED ME IN MY TRACKS.
SIT A COOL OLDIE!
Doc that's a custom on a modern dually running gear. It never had duals originally. Probably leaded in the rear doors. Mitch
Yeah, doesn't seem practical as a hauler, Mitch.
Here's my yard ornament adorned with a doll from Kazakistan....
Spotted this well Patina'd INTERNATIONAL on a bike ride last week semi-retired and stationery as a FARM STAND!

Can't let this great old thread die....
I have some old truck pics......
I will find them and post them here.
Nebraska
Truck has not been driven in years. Painted then parked, never to be driven again. Parked in a little town that died with the economy 5+ years ago.
Speaking of old Dodges like the one I have above, I used to own a 41 Dodge.
It was on a 95 S-10 frame, 50 chevy bed, 48 Ford rear fenders, 305 Chevy engine, turbo 350 trans.
And it had the owners manual in the glovebox still
It was a fun rat rod. I let it go as projects were piling up.
^^^^^ JEALOUS! ^^^^^
Anywho....I dug this little gem up today at an old farm dump. Almost an exact replica of my own....
Co-Op truck from Nebraska.
NICE LIGHT OVERNIGHT BLANKET OF SNOW....
wish... oh how i wish i could buy this...
CocaCola Truck
SPOTTED THIS ONE A FEW WEEKS AGO WHILE HIKING NEW GROUNDS....
How Cool... "I got it one piece at a time, and it didn't cost me a dime"... Gonna need more than an "adapt-a-kit" to put that back together
I think it's a Dodge or a Plymouth with a full sunroof!
Looks like a beak of a giant totem pole fallen over--that or a dinosaur head gasping its last breath.
This is for Baileybee, if you are going after one of those trucks you should look for the beer version.

My latest toy.
The C.O.E. tow truck is very cool!!
This truck is owned by a co-worker of mine, he is the shop foreman in the service dept. at the dealership we work at. He did all the rust panel replacement himself and I did all the panel alignment, gapping the panels, bodywork and prepping for paint, and one of the painters I work with sprayed it. I didn't spray it as I haven't had a chance to use the water borne yet and I didn't want to practice on his truck.

49 GMC COE with a 60's Peterbilt sleeper on a late model GMC chassis.
Found this old wrecker at an estate sale this weekend and I thought it was KOOL!
59 IH that I saved from going to the scrapyard.
rode up some long dirt roads, past a bunch of horses/stables to take this pic of a barn that had a "bonus" truck on the other side!

Here is my latest Hot Rod. 1962 GMC truck with original paint, original "Big Block" V6 with a 3 on the tree, and 83K original miles. It should be ready to hit the streets in the Spring of 2014 to torment the general public. Matt
Wow, nice original survivor truck!
That's Killer!!! I like the added Details In the Box really makes it look like a real shop truck! Nice Job!
how come it has 2 different license plates on it?

I can't even imagine what you're gonna do with a nice big truck like that! Parades? Bulk tanker? Tear down a certain bridge? LOL
Nice old trucks and cool Pete , all the 2 cycle detroits are almost all gone . Nothing sounds like one of them ,they was neat engines.
NOT A TRUCK, BUT STILL A FUN SUMMER PROJECT COMING ALONG QUITE NICELY!
that's a pretty nice car not a 2 door but being a 4 door if it was mine i think it would make a great police or fire chief car
1946 Studebaker pick up runs an drives got it home last night
I spotted these 2 for sale alongside the road yesterday. 41 International and I think the Ford was a 35.
Couple I saw today while getting some parts.

Gotta love all of those old trucks!
Here's my 1931 Model AA Ford 1-1/2 ton stakebed truck, an unrestored original with 40,000 miles which I have owned for 31 years. I bought him in 1982 out of a barn where he had been stored up on blocks for about 25 years. He had 36,000 miles on him when I found him. This photo was taken during the filming of a movie near my home in Bartlett, Texas a couple of years ago. His name is "Henry".
Fred
And this is "Jethro", my 1929 Model A Ford Grapes of Wrath Okie Dustbowl Buggy which was also used in the same movie. That's me with my back to the camera with the wardrobe person getting me ready to drive in the next scene. That's the movie's director in the pink shirt to the left of Jethro and both he and the screenplay writer loved Jethro and used him in several scenes instead of some of the nicely restored antique cars available. Their comment when they first saw him was, "Now, that's patina!" I know he's not a truck but everyone seems to love seeing Jethro.
Fred
And another shot of Jethro.

Here's a nice shot of some 1930 Model AA Ford gasolene tankers being delivered when new in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Heres a couple of old wreckers that did their job back in the day and are currently at rest!
Heres an old 35 Ford delivery tanker that sold thru an auction in Redfield ,South Dakota. Older partial restoration. Had a flatty V8 that ran pretty well!
Not REAL old but--Roberts Transfer was located in Audubon Iowa,at that time they had "rights" From Des Moines Ia. to Omaha Ne.On Hwy.Ia.44-now Hwy 64.This was the first 40 ft.trailer that Roberts bought in the early 60's.I started with them in 1958,at that time they had only 3 semi-trailers.A 26 ft.a 28 ft.and a 32 ft.All were single axle and pulled by a single axle tractor. The 26 ft.trailer had a vacumn brake system.(whipper snappers are saying "what you mean Willis, Vacumn??"I picked this trailer up in Omaha with a fairly new White Mustang.I did 9 years wth Roberts before moving to Ca.and did 30 years with Shell on tankers.
Frank; Nice story. Bet you were a "proud daddy" getting to pull that trailer down the road for the first time and onto the yard.
I didn't start truckin' until after deregulation. But have heard a lot of stories about those days.
Chuck
Hi Chuck, lots of good and not so good memories of those days. The reason i left that co.was because i could see it was going down the tubes after the owners son took it over.Deregulation took it down a no. of years later.Hope all is well with you and yours.
.
Looks like Arizona/
Never heard of this co.
