A seller recently caught my eye on EBay for the items they were selling. The user name is travelintiques. They have had some pretty rare items they have sold. I noticed two oil cans sell in a matter of minutes tonight. One was a Sinclair Opaline can and the other was an O’neils rocker can. A couple of red flags are coming up for me.
1. Prices are very good.
2. Every auction says it is new old stock (how is that possible?).
3. The estimated shipping (for my area) is around a month to a month and a half out (that’s a LONG time).
4. They do not accept PayPal; only credit cards.
5. They have been a member of EBay since last year (2018).

Hopefully everything is legit and people are getting some nice deals. Something just seems off.

Just food for thought. Not sure if anyone hasn’t noticed the same thing. They have listed several rocker cans this week. I think all of them have sold.

16-25 days? Are they needing extra time to plan the heist to fulfill the order? $2300 for a single can from a relatively unknown seller with only 50 transactions under their belt, yeah beware unless money is of no object.

Stay AWAY! I just read a warning about this seller yesterday on facebook! Doesn't answer any communications and seems to disappear!

Can you not pick items up in person? that would be the telling tale I would think

I just checked the sellers “other items page” today. There was a couple pages of stuff last night. Not all of their stuff is gas and oil...most of it is not actually. Today there is nothing. Very odd.

I cannot tell you how close I was to buying that O’Neils rocker can last night. I’m so glad that I did not.

Sneaky... Exact photo is stolen from the Morphy's January 2016 auction, lot 65. Apparently the can sold back then for $7,320. So I'm going to say take caution.

Check out eBay seller 312480102240 Same thing. Sells the same sign multiple times for too good to be true prices. CC only and does not allow pick-up

So some things I have learned/am learning about apparently new scammers on EBay.
1. Prices are usually pretty good
2. Shipping is a month out and longer (probably after it would be to long of time to try to get your credit card to reverse the charges)
3. Credit card only as payment
4. No local pickup

Not sure I understand the endgame?

You pay by CC...they take their time shipping...you end up paying off CC bill..they never ship...and now you have no recourse is my guess

...the seller changed their user ID to 'kr-1974' on Wednesday...
