If you could only keep one globe in your entire collection or its just your favorite globe let's see it. This is mine it came from a friend and I don't think I could ever let it go.
my Sweney Sky Hawk... came from a member of this site, and very thankful to have it.
My first globe given to me 30 years ago. Scott Benjamin lists it in his globe e-book as only one known to exist.
Well this happens to be my only globe, so I hope it still counts.
Don't own any globes. If I could only have one, I think the Musgo would be the one. Beautiful all lit up!
Dang it Ray that is gorgeous.
my favorite
One of my favorites...
Here is mine
This is mine, it came from my dad for Christmas one year who got it from a farmer in my dad's hometown.
Tydol globe for me.
One of the first globes I ever bought. I did not even realize how good of a globe it was at the time. Just liked it and still do. One piece etched with original paint.
Frontier on a wide glass body, found in a corn crib in Nebraska in the early 80's.
My favorite "fantasy" globe,Sav'n Sam's never had an original, this was made by Pogogas (thank you!) from an original decal that i emailed to him.Excellent job!
Both of these were gifts from friends and will not be sold, Both are not in the best of shape but mean a lot to me!
...always a classic!!! LoveOldThings
This one was my introduction to globes and the number has grown significantly since then. But best of all it is from a small refiner/retailer in my home town. It only has one lens...so if anyone has a spare. Thanks MM for the opportunity to buy it.
My 1st & favorite that I got out of the pump house of the bulk plant I hauled into in the late 1960's.
Dave
Here is mine out of the Kyle Moore Collection. According to Scott B.at PCM this is the only 15" Pennant lens known to have the Heart on it.
Awesome. Was this for Quincy, IL?
Awesome. Was this for Quincy, IL?
Mass. I believe. Right, Flash?
Not the rarest in my collection but, My Fav. Now I have to find the green one.
This is my first and only Globe so far! Luck be had I did not know what I was purchasing until after I purchased it & I ordered the Globe CD.Lucky to find and original Stock Certificate for 100 shares in the Old Dutch Company Refinery which was located in Muskegon Michigan.Still looking for my next Gem .
My favorite...
here are mine...
Out of all the Rotary ones I have I like this one the best.
The old Dutch is hard to beat
All of the globes look fantastic! I don't have any, myself. Have a couple broken lenses displayed and that is it...
But, I am enjoying the beauties, you folks are sharing...
Especially, the early Associated; Neil!.... LOL
Thank you all... They look, too me, like wonderful large Christmas ornaments.
I hope that you don't to rough playing that pinball machine. Wouldn't want to give that a hip check and get that globe rocking. lol
Mike
nice globes everyone.....but you know which ones my favorite..LOL
Bob I an gonna try that line on Bev...Christmas tree ornaments...but I won't put them on the tree!
Mike, That neon is the coolest !! Great globes everybody !!! Keepem coming !!
My favorite from my collection.
Dan
Here's mine, I love it!
Ok, I am cheating. But, at least it is only one picture. The lower RH corner is a 15 inch metal banded Texaco and my Power Gasoline are my favorites....ok, I like the Texaco diesel too.
every globe posted is superb!! As for me, i have a different favorite every week! lol. This week, it would be this one. This one will be with me a long long time i hope!
It's hard to pick a favorite, but I would have to say in a fire situation the art-deco Marathon would be the one I would probably grab. I've said before that when I got into collecting Petroliana I bought the globe books and this globe stood out to me so much that I said I was going to own one someday. It took a few years but I finally did!
Darin
Only three I have so far.
awesome globes everybody. I didn't care for original globes before and was going to put a repop capco on a Roman, but boy has this site and the people opened my eyes to the beauty of original globes and pumps. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
I have a couple but since we are talking about all original... I will post this one.
Pick one??? Scott B.
My favorite that a great old gas friend got for me.
...always a classic!!! LoveOldThings
BEAUTY great globes guys
Great globes guys! That's an outstanding pump John.
Nice pump john. Chad I bet your globe and mine came from the same great guy.
I bet it's one and the same. He drove something like 1600 miles and bought me one panhandle globe and didn't say a word about this one. I helped him unload 11 that day and this was one of them. He was the first guy I met from old gas he has treated me like a son.
Stacy has a favorite also.
Not the most exciting globe or colorful, But the solid key hole shape is unique in it's own way. And I did find it in a old bulk plant here in Albuquerque, NM
Love seeing great globes... Why are we posting reproductions?
I hope that you don't to rough playing that pinball machine. Wouldn't want to give that a hip check and get that globe rocking. lol
Mike
I move it when ever we turn it on for a game. Which hasn't been very often lately.
All great looking globes , makes me drool ! Thanks for sharing
Love seeing great globes... Why are we posting reproductions?
With all the beautiful original globes out there it's beyond me why there's even a market for that stuff (other than for display on an outside pump).
I guess collectors and decorators are both posting their favorite globes.
Scott B..."Love the Lighthouses"!!! ...and I couldn't decide between the two, either!
Here's my favorite -- for today, at least!
LoveOldThings
This Texaco Ethyl is a real beauty, but I thought your favorite was the Texaco Chimney cap you posted earlier?
LOL!--I know, I know! Different favorites on different days!!
K.W. Frith,
...I know, I know, but living with my wife has made me "fickled", like her sometimes! :-)
LoveOldThings
Absolutely amazing globes everyone!!
Love seeing great globes... Why are we posting reproductions?
I noticed one other fantasy globe posted. But when I get an original globe that I can post I will.
WJCurator
Well I can't let this thread go by without posting my favorite. Rarin-to-go post a picture of yours so I can get jealous again. Mitch
There's something wrong with that globe body. It's all bumpy. Send it to me and I'll send you a nice smooth one to replace it.

That's funny
Nothing flashy about the Zip Price globe but probably the only Rarity 6 globe I will ever own.
Hard to pick just one, but the Rainbow has a lot of appeal....
here's mine
My favorite one we have, but it changes everyday!
Dennis,
Beautiful globe, indeed!
BTW, I thought you have picked:
RED LION Hen
Here's mine. Not in the best condition - but the only one know to exist at this time.
Jim, Awesome globe in any condition.
I'm not sure I have one favorite globe. At first I was going to post my RJ Oils 500 globe but John posted his on his historically correct restored pump. Then I figured I'd post my Sinclair Aircraft but Steve posted his (alongside his favorite Zip Price globe).
So I figured I'd post this one since my last name is Drake....
Jim, That Franklin globe is fantastic! Do you have any info on the company that used it?
Dennis, It doesn't any better than a globe that pictures a car, pump and globe!
Just what Scott and Wayne published: Rackliff Oill Company out of New Britain, CT. No company history.
I got this off of e-bay years ago. I've never seen (or heard of) another one.
FYI - I believe this image was originally intended to be a 13.5" lens. The white outer border is 3/4" (times two = 1.5", from 15.0" = 13.5") and there are some other clues on the art that lead me to believe it was supposed to only be a CAPCO/Glass Body globe.
None-the-less, there was enough existing information on my original lens for me to do a reproduction.
Here is a shot of what it would have looked like when it was new.
My only two originals nothing fancy but their my favorites these are the pics from the night I brought them home from the bulk plant....
Dont cut those short Buck. That is two VERY cool examples!! Glass bodied! I love 'em!!
And since I'm hear writting, that Frontier ripple up there, wow that thing is clean!! Very nice!!
My only two originals nothing fancy but their my favorites these are the pics from the night I brought them home from the bulk plant....
The story alone makes them priceless . Not too many chances for anyone to find stuff like that anymore Good for you
Hard to pick just one, but the Rainbow has a lot of appeal....
This is a great Post and there are soooo many great globes pictured but ya know my favorite so far!
Do you mind sharing how you came by it, Dennis? Thanx for sharing the pic and if you decide to share the story!

Well Dave...I purchased it from an auction quite a few years ago. Just got lucky and bid the highest with no story behind it....BUT, the original owner of this told me that he got a call from an old man about a pump that was for sale. When he arrived at the gentleman's home, which was way out in the forest in the Pacific Northwest in the middle of nowhere, he was amazed to see the pump with globe on top sitting out next to the guys barn. If my memory serves me, I think he said the pump was still operational and hooked up to an underground tank.
These are Maurice's "souperhigh" favorite globes and he is looking for the green one!
My one of only a couple.
Love the dance globes! Love them all though. LOL
Thanks John, Someday one will show up for sale.,
Double D, Ballerina's are my favorite.
What's a quick history on the ballerina globes there can't be that many of them.
Tydol Ethyl w/ airplane is my favorite of the group. Chad
Very nice display Chad....excellent collection of globes there.
Great Tydol collection Chad!
Great looking Tydol collection! I'm not a Tydol collector, but that looks to be a pretty all-inclusive group. Any ones that have eluded you up to this point?
For me, it has to be the Cities Service clovers. Of the 4 I have, the green Koolmotor's are my favorite.
Thanks guys. It's been a long road to get this far. Chad
A Georgia globe.
Great collection of Tydol !!! I did not see this one on your shelves. While not my favorite in my collection it's still up there.
I have too many favorite globes, it's hard to pick, but I guess I will go with my Haffner globes. {see I still couldn't pick one} They are local to where I use to live and I still buy gas at there stations when I am in the area.
This one tickled my fancy this morning.
Chris,
That Frontier is AWESOME!!!
Ok..."This" is my favorite...today! Just got it!
Man I would have to fight the grandson for that Boron globe!!
That is quirky sweet.
Thank you Chris. But it looks even better in person. Mitch
I would say my 2sets of Co-op globes. They are plastic but I really like them. If I had to pick just one it would be the Super Co-Op.
Keep 'em coming guys. Seeing all these globes makes me want to start collecting globes! I was trying to pick a favorite one from all the ones posted so far but just can't do it. I know everyone is enjoying this thread as much as I am.
Shorty
Love the DX with the rocket...Shorty,I agree. Great thread !
Not the most graphic but sure do like the body.
That 2 cent is cool!!!!!
Would love to see that sitting up on top of a visible with those lights shining down!!
That IS cool! Do you know if it was used on a pump or a light pole? Either way, I like it!
Nice and different globe, Les!!
Thanks guys, I got it in upper Wisconsin and it was on a 5 gallon Gillbert Barker visible. I've had this for a real long time. I plan to work on the pump this winter.
Had a hard time narrowing it down, but here are two of our favorites.
Thanks to Shawn for starting up this thread!
Lonnie & Aaron Hop
It doesn't get any better than the Popular Competitive globe!
No kidding Bob that globe is killer
Lonnie-You should photograph that whole wall!!!
It would be hard to narrow it down to even eleven with that wall!
John, great picks, what size are those Phillips lens?
That farm bureau is insane! Love it!!
Great choices John! Glad to see your getting unpacked.
I guess the Wilshire Economy is my #2 in my collection! Jim
I guess my "Cock O The Walk" is #1 in my collection! Jim
I like my Nebraska Coryell globes. Still missing a few though.
My Sweney globe.
He likes teasing me with that globe! Like pretending it was for sale in Iowa. Lol
I had to pick this Southland because it took so very long to upgrade. Hopefully it will clean up some. The bottom is the single lens I had to live with for years.
Nice globes everyone and thanks for starting this post. Like everyone else it is hard to choose just one but this is my favorite of my Derby globes which I think looks great on a red ripple. Keep them coming.
Wonderful thread - love all different globes!!
Here is a contribution from Sweden - Pratts Bensin ca 1925.

Claes
In light of the Swedish entry I decided to continue with the International flavour with some Canadian Content.
Quote "which I think looks great on a red ripple." I would anything would look good in a red ripple holder! And Peter that Prairie Cities is very much one of my top choices given my Wpg heritage.
A COUPLE OF MY FAVORITES....
I'm not a globe guy but I have enjoyed this thread.
Thanks to all who have shared.
tuff to pick one, tonight these 2, NFS
Love that Ace Hi globe Clifton!!
I like to collect local items when possible, from Minn, Mont, SD, and of course N Dak. This globe would qualify as ND and Minn, one of my all time favorites! Has a little damage on both sides toward the bottom but took me 20 years to get one.
I
This globe is from Gregory SD, a small market that had one of the greatest logo's, in my opinion. Also one my favorites!
This is my favorite Montana globe, that is, that I own anyway. There are a lot of great looking Montana globes!!
This is my favorite N Dak globe. Westland oil is my favorite company to collect and this is my favorite globe from them that I own and that's because I don't have the one pc with the buffalo on it!! Lol. But this is a super rare piece that Greg was so kind to sell to me quite a few yrs back and I'm very lucky to have it in my collection. And yes, I'll be in Ariz next week hunting buffaloes!! Haha.
great globes Jody. Love the Aerio... Woooow !!
Nice Globes, did you ever pick up a PEP88 globe?
Chris,
Your Frontier Red Ripple is a showstopper!
What a fabulous globe.
Mike
I sure am sure enjoying seeing all of these great globes! Thank you to all of you that have posted. I know, for many of you, it's hard to pick just one. This is probably my favorite because it would be the hardest to replace. It's a heavy, wide, etched, milk glass "canopy globe" from the teens. One of the first globes made after the "chimney tops". It came from a TEXACO station in central Nebraska, which closed in 1956.
Thank you for this thread.
Rod van Pelt
a little late to the dance,
adding to the favorite globe archives .. ...
My only globe
I thought I would add one more for viewing pleasure. Found this in Eastern Colorado on a ranch in a grain bin... Rancher said he brought it from western Kansas when they bought the ranch in Colorado
My favorite ! Thought I would help revive the thread .
My only globe so far but I’m keeping my eye out for that Lunsford Oil Company Globe!
My favorite.
My favorite.

This pair of globes has special meaning to me. My Dad and I attended Iowa Gas together most every year for the past thirty years or so. At our very first Iowa Gas, (Texaco was the featured oil company) there must have been 70+ globes in the auction. Of course as newbies to the hobby we were just in awe of the whole experience. This unique pair was displayed on lighted stands on either side of the auctioneer. I remember thinking how cool and unusual these were as there was also a 3x5 notecard that explained the history of where these came from and all. The auctioneer read the card aloud before they sold and I wish I could remember what it said. But back in the early 90s when a hundred dollar bill went a loooong way, these globes were simply out of my reach. Fast forward about twenty years or so, these came up in the Iowa Gas auction again!!! Although that note card history has been lost to time, I was fortunate enough to win these and makes a great memory of all the years my Dad and I have enjoyed this hobby and going to shows together.
Not a lot of globes in our collection. The Atlantic is probably my favorite.
Steve, those are very unique and cool. Spencer
My favorite! it's a plain globe with no graphic's but I really like the colors.
Just rescued this one from certain death. My favorite so far… X-Tane!
Steve
This is one of my Texas favorites. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I have a few favorites but the Wasatch and the Mobile would be at the top of the list .
Happy New Year Old Gas!
Had globe holder made of figurative maple and dark walnut individual glued pieces and turned on a lathe.
For a very special pump.
