Hello All,
Here's the latest addition to my sign collection. This is my first larger sign. While someday I hope to own a nice 48" Mobil sheild, I've always liked the older Texaco signs and was able to procure this sign locally. It is dated C 35 on the bottom. The sign holder is a little out of shape but I hope to straighten it out at some point and paint it black and remount it.
Have a good one,
Darin

WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW>>>>>That is the cleanest 42" 1930's Texaco sign I have seen!!!
Got this flange sign this week......it's one I've been wanting for some time now. The Mobiloil
S version is a lot more difficult to find in good condition than the Mobiloil version....and I'm thinking it's probably a few years older.
Richard
Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. I only touched up a few very small pecs on this side, none are larger than a pencil eraser top. You can kinda see the pecs in the green since I don't have any green paint, lol. Side 2 has 4 larger pecs, but still it's one of the nicest I've seen as well. I'm proud to be it's new owner.
Darin
I picked up a nice American 140, short 39 and a Standard globe with it, cylinder broke but overall good shape.
a few nourse cans,,a special thanks to scott shippers for the orange can,,,txs alan
Very nice Texaco sign Darin..Ya know if you sold all that Roseville pottery in the background you could buy a whole whack of nice signs to match that Texaco sign.
Phil,
Nice pumps from my neighborhood.LOL I checked on those pumps about a year ago and have been meaning to check back again. TO LATE! LOL It seem like the guys x was giving him a lot of problems.Phil, i could have picked you off with a cheap scope! LOL Good score!
Nice Texaco!
Thanks Colin. The pottery collection started over 10 years ago when my Grandma passed away and left me a few "seed" pieces, to which I have added quite a bit to over the years. It used to be my pottery room I called it, but it's slowly being taken over by globes and signs, lol! I think it may be moving to another location at some point this year as it looks a little out of place with the petro now.
I added to my Cities Service collection last week with this nice tin--2 sided sign that I bought from Ron Hoyt! It has a different picture on each side, so when I need a change, I simply flip it over and display the other side! Thanks Ron!
you nee to find the can rack that it went in Kevin...then fill with cans..
cool sign kevin !!!! i like it a lot..alan
Your welcome Kevin!
I had a great week...
I found this cool 14 inch National refining sign
A couple pennzoil signs and a paint sign with graphics...

I probably should have mentioned that Tom Van Holten found the Koolmotor sign for me at Columbia and called me with the contact info! I've bought several signs from Tom and some of the best signs that I have came from him! Tom knows quality when he see's it and he knew right away that I'd really like the "KOOLMOTOR" sign! Thanks again TOM!
Kevin that's a very nice c.s sign, here's a vacuum oil company curb sign base i got & a Goodrich vertical sign that I'm pleased with!

Picked up a few higher end qts...The airline is pretty rough but still displays. A couple has some flaws but they looked good enough to display until I can upgrade. The Indian Penn is flawless and is now right up there with my Penn-Guinn can.

SERIOUSLY,THAT'S A NICE SCORE,AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
GREAT "BUYS" EVERYBODY. QUITE THE IMPRESSIVE WEEK VARIETY-WISE.
JASON, ARE YOU SURE THAT'S NOT A MILK BOTTLE? I SEE YOU'RE TREATING IT LIKE ONE! LOL! DO YOU DISPLAY YOUR OLD MILK BOTTLES WITH MOTOR OIL IN THEM?
Great looking cans Jerry, I will get over to see them.
Jason:
I fill my Oil Bottles with that black sand they use for sandblasting. It looks like 'used' oil - and it weighs a ton!
At least my bottles won't fall over! LOL
Later . . .

Be careful, they will break VERY easy with just a bump of the glass if filled with a heavy material.

Here's a Porcelain Humble restroom switch that came in the mail today, it was a ebay score!
that's one of the coolest small signs I have ever seen
Yea they don't come up much for sale ,so i made darn sure that i was going to get this one, i will post a pic of the back side, this one is complete ,I've seen some come up without the switch ,i am going to run my garage door to this switch & mount to wall & polish the brass, the seller told me that he pulled it out of a Exxon station in 1977 in San Antonio,TX he was a real pleasure to do business with!
Back of the humble switch !
Pretty darn cool lighthouse sign...almost 25 old cars on it
Here are my 2 buys this week!
I may have been laid up somewhat, but the fingers on my right hand could still get to the auction button on Ebay. LOL
A few Ebay grease cans and a great 1/4 gallon Pennant can from Don (5 quart);
I also picked up a couple of radiator covers. The Tydol came from England and the Pennant from Joey (Coke_and_stuff)

Two signs I picked up.
HOPE you didn't over pay for Neon TEXACO sign.
Whats a good price before I say?
It's a 24" reproduction neon.
I was biting my tounqe, was hoping you didn't buy it thinking it was original
I knew what it was. I'm not paying $5k for a neon.
Yeah
Leave that for the Barrett Jackson guys.
And for 5 G's maybe they'll throw in a lubester with a sticker and a globe on it. : )
I have the gas fever so bad i'd like to open my own full service station.
UNTIL you start applying for Permits & Paying FEES!
Nothing new around here. Just to pull your toilet you need a permit.
