When Scott was in Tulsa to visit Maurice for the Chilli Bowl he posted Pictures of the pole sign collection that was dispayed outside...
http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/002031-2.html
Maurice (souperhigh)took me over there the first night I was there and boy was it cold!!!!! Maurice said that he has been trying for years to see what was inside the buildings.
The next day when Ray (hotcider) and his wife Mary Sue came in to visit and to see Maurice 's collection (which is one fine collection) we were talking about this place with the sign poles. Christina (maurice's best half) called the office and someone answered!!! She explained who she was and said that friends from California and Louisiana were in town along with her husband was wondering if there was any chance that we could get in to see what had to be an awsome collection. The lady on the phone said that she would call her back....BINGO!!! she did call back and asked how many would be coming and that her father in law would pick up some lunch for us and to be at the compound in one hour!!!!
maybe it was the luck of the Irish that I brought with me or Ray and Mary brought the luck with them. How long have you been trying to get in there Maurice?

You can see in the picture above that there is racks of signs, and sign rings/ frames. another rack for just poles. Racks of neons waiting to be restored and in the back buildings were full of signs that have not been hung or cleaned yet!!!!!
Ray took the first two pic's and t pic's 3 and 4 are from Scott on the orginal post......
Guys and Gals this is gonna take awhile because I live in a rural area and all we have is dial-up.

More to follow.

First I need to say that we did not go into the buildings with the signs that have not been or waiting to be hung. I know this is because I asked the owner.

.
In this building (picture below)he stores his chopper...you know the kind that flys!!!! that is how he found most of his signs. It was also loaded with collectibles and had a loft that had 4 or 5 old coke boxes that was converted to couches and had the holes thru out the floor for the golf balls that all collected below. included was a stocked bar and etc., etc....thru the window below was the helicopter.

Paddy:

Wow, sure am sorry Chuck and I missed this! I want that Conoco BRONZE sign..
Thanks for posting it all. maybe we can go see it next year??

Ric
I LOVE BIG NEONS, THIS DISPLAY IS FANTASTIC!
Thanks for the photos, this is great stuff, I love it!
OK boys and girls. I never signed a release for Paddy to post these pictures so I'm going to be filing a suit in the morning. Knowing where Paddy lives I believe a suit for $5.00 might be all I can get. This was truly a wonderful treat to see all this and it's not really open to the public and it appeared that very few people have ever even been there
Ray
I missed out on seeing it by a couple of hours!

Awesome collection. Imagine how many years it took to amass all that stuff!
Oh! Man! If you live in Yurrup like me, this place is at least a thousand times better than anything you'd ever see!!!! My little sign collection looks rather weedy now........THANKS for posting all this !!!!Morgan in Luxembourg
That OLDS Rocket is Mindboggling!

That pinup girl really is the "Best of Show" isn't it?
Dave62:

Jim
She sure is a sweetie!! I fell in love with here too!!!!
Makes me want to put in some stairs.
Ray's camera was dying on him so I guess he didn't get the McFly Crude Oil sign. There was loads of signs that we didn't get pictures of like in the hallways, staircase in the front lobby....a wall full of thermomters. He had very large orginal painting which was used for the first cover of Sports Illuminated...the second issue was called Sports Illustrated from then on.

Just bumping this for the newer members to see.
Thanks for another tour Paddy. Really an amazing collection. Its really some thing that its a private collection.Seems a shame more people can't witness it in person. At the same time it was real nice of him to open it up to you folks and let us get a peek too. Thanks again- Jim
How many Memory cards and or film did you use to do all this stuff? Man, this is completely over the top! Ed Shaver
Oh. My. God. Amazing, thanks for sharing. For us less experienced guys, can anyone tell us about the collector? He must have an interesting story. Whoever you are , thanks for letting us see your collection.
John
This ranks right up there with the Falvo collection, maybe even better.
This was in 2008...thought I would bump this up to the top for some of the newer members to see....
hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for bumping this as I had not seen it. Gotta love the Oldsmobile rocket neon, Route 66 motel and the pinup. Just an amazing collection.
2008? Wow I cant believe all the time Ive "wasted" here. Fantastic collection. Thanks for reviving it!
Vermonter asked about the collector.
He has a helicopter and would fly around small towns looking for their trash and or junk yard over the years and got alot of them for little money.
This is a awesome collection and the owner is a first class guy.
If anyone comes to town I will have Christina call and work her magic again.
He also rents this place out for meetings and receptions. I was at a wedding reception there just last year.
There is a couple of buildings full of goodies.
Maurice
Thanks Maurice. Sounds like a cool guy.
Maurice, can't believe that was 4 years ago....time stands still for no one.
Paddy,
It was a cold week and weekend. remember at Seth's auction it rained all day then iced up and you and Chuck (Hemibird) were out trying to break ice to move a pump from one trailer to another.
Bring momma with you and let's go see it again.
But we all had a great time at Seth's auction with Ric and Domonica and Ray and Mary Sue and you Chuck and James and I along with Christina.
Paddy,

Thanks for bumping this thread up!

The combination of FALSTAFF beer, Coke sign upstairs and the stair case with the pin-up girl leaning against the banister …

What a great & unique idea for decorating that particular area!
