Been a busy week for me. Went back to the guy I got the sinclair sign from last week, and bought a few more things. I'm not really a Phillips 66 guy, but figured down the road, once I was done enjoying/displaying them, I'd be able to trade them for texaco stuff. He also gave me this double sided pennzoil sign. Not sure if its a repop or not, but it was all part of the deal. Today I also picked up 12 more porcelain lights for my collection, and this wheel balancer that I've always told myself I would buy. Lights were $12 a pop and balancer was $25. I've already started stripping the paint off the lights and they look brand new underneath. Balancer I'll paint to match my texaco theme. May not be correct, but I think it'll look good with the rest if my texaco stuff.
I love buying pumps that are still hooked up!! Usually the owner stands there telling stories about the pump.... I-e, this dent came frm dad on the tractor, this giant dent happened when grandma backed into in with the brand new Buick!!! Etc etc, really like the stories!!! And sumtimes they help. Bought a wane 60 once, they had set the pump & then poured concrete under the pump all the way to the top of the base, it took me bout 2hrs to bust all the concrete without busting the base,I couldn’t even think about loading it with all that concrete probably 250lbs worth. The 88yr old lady stayed out the whole time told me stories & brought me a few cold drinks!!! Luv those times!! Chris
