The Pump of the Month for November is a Wayne 40. These pumps are super cool in my opinion. With the 8" Veeder-Root they were Wayne's first computer pump. I personally do not own one of these pumps yet so Gas Pump Rob was gracious enough to give me a picture of one of his. Here is the list as follows:

-Wayne 40: 1932-1934. Fancy face bezel, first pump to use the Veedor Root
-Wayne 45: 1932-1935. Twin Wayne 40 pump.
-Wayne 40-A: 1935-1938. Plain Cabinet version, it had a cabinet display in the lower panel. It also could be ordered with a lighted display cabinet.
-Wayne 40-A: 1935-1938. Sight gauge was used instead of a visi gauge and moved to above the computer.

The above information is credited to Jack Sim and his book. Okay everyone please share what you have for a Wayne 40. What a great pump!!

I would like to know if a 40A with internal sight glass has shown up.. I know it's in the book but I've never seen one.

Here are my Wayne 40s. I have owned the yellow one sense 2007 and the rusty one sense 2008.

My favorite pumps! Here are my two, the Esso one has the smaller window opening size. There were two sizes of openings on the face bezels. The earlier ones had the smaller opening. I started a thread about this last year or so on here.

In the next photo you will see a very early Wayne 40 . Notice the on off lever comes out at an angle rather than straight. Also you can see the small window opening like mentioned earlier.

In this photo you can see the earliest of 8 inch Veedor Root calculators made for the 40. Notice the one on the left has no price per gallon wheels because those wheels are attached to the back of the window frame as seen in the photo. The 8 inch calculator on the right fits the Wsyne 40 A pump .

Thanks Mike! I got this pump from Manassas Fats Keith Johnson a few years ago, no sheet metal or bezels. I had bought a pair of faces from him a couple years earlier at Mason Dixon, you never know when you might need in the future! I tried to get original sheet metal, but opted for repop doors and I had the side panels cut at the local metal shop that I use. I worked out a deal on an original face bezel and scrounged up a repop, so I painted everything and put it together. I'm very happy with it! I should have cleaned the garage before I took the PIC! Nice pump Brady. I remember you telling me about it and how you got the original bezel. It came out great.

Here's my 40a, not as fancy as the 40 but I'm glad I have it in my collection.

BTW the Boes dispenser was also in the same Texaco bulk shed.

I restored it a long time ago, looking back, wish I wouldn't have, but too late now.
Never forget the day I opened that bulk shed door and this pump was 5 feet inside the door...

Great pump Kim, bet it is one heavy heavy boy! I know what you're saying about the restoration thing, there are many pumps I restored that I hadn't. Looks great with all of your other pieces.

Great Wayne 45!

Here is a photo of my Wayne 40. It was an amateur restoration in need of rewiring, a new side panel (the access door opening had been enlarged and than covered with a Lead Gas sign and there was a hole in the bottom the size of a golf ball to run the plug wire through). Still not a show pump but a nice addition to my collection.

The window frames and face plates are reproduction and I, along with many more collectors, would love to find an original set of window frames.
