This is a rare Gilbarco model 89. It was a regular 89 that was available for any brand but I converted it to a Tidewater version with a shoe box globe. The Tidewater version must be really rare. I have never seen one and have only seen a partial picture of one. It has a few pieces of new sheet metal so I could not leave it unrestored but I like the unrestored look so I did a rustoration. Mid 30s to early 40s the Tydol Ethyl pumps were cream and black I did this one early 40s style. Hope you guys like it.

...Matt, what exactly are the differences between the 89 and the 89T; the top and the trim?

The top, trim and shoe box are the only difference between the two.

A little story behind this pump. Every year I drive to Iowa Gas and pick /hunt along the way. I found this pump in the middle of a metal scarp yard about 6 years ago. It was hurting to say the least . I hired gas pump heaven Andy to make the sides. The scrap guy told me he got it off a farm near Colby Kansas. I had to pay up because he thought it was special even in the cond. it was in. It sat in my pump room for years until I needed funding for a holy grail pinball . Matt has worked hard on this pump and I am proud of what he did with it!

The accent color on the cream is black walnut wood stain and on the black is a copper metallic automotive base coat I found in my garage from a long ago project.
