Here is our latest project. A 1965 Wayne 70 gas pump that was produced exclusively for MOBIL Oil Co.
They were designed for specially designed MOBIL gas stations. Remember the TV show “The Jetsons”? In 1962 a prime-time TV cartoon style show based on a family who lived in the year 2062.
The show started a whole trend of “Futuristic designs” during that time period. The show was brought back on the 80’s.
The hardest part about restoring one of these is to find one that CAN be restored. The top is plastic and very few have survived the last 53 years.
The lower part is stainless and was easily dented. It takes hours and hours to repair and re-apply the brushed finish. There are no reproduction parts available.
This one was one of 12 we bought about fifteen years ago when we emptied out a bulk warehouse in Cecil, WI.
I have had this sitting here ever since and finally got around to restoring it. 100% original. The top lights up brightly!
It can be shipped bolted to a pallet and plywood box covered. $100 to box and pallet it. Buyer pays actual shipping cost.
