While on vacation I found this glass globe body for sale. Guy is a teacher in a northern Michigan college & about to retire. He said he found this in the attic of a small auto shop he purchased in Grand Rapids 40 yrs ago.
I have never gotten familiar with original globes. Wonder if someone can ID this & give me a ballpark value. I'm sure I'll start exploring the lens market! The lens size is 13.5" and it has only one retaining screw. Thanks Rick

Rick,

Prices on these have gotten stupid in the last 18 months.

I believe it's because of the unavailability of the reproduction bodies due to the Covid shut down.

I personally won't pay over $350.00 for one - but I've seen them on Feebay for up to $600.00 for a wide body version.

We sell exact reproduction mounting screw kits if you get some lenses.

Later . . .

Like Jim said globe bodies have gone to the moon and back on prices. What Jim quoted I think is fair in my opinion. Les

I appreciate the info on price. Any idea on the manufacturer or model? Yes I like Sinclair in case you wondered.

There were numerous makers of glass bodies

I don't know any way to tell who made the 'normal' narrow and wide bodies.

Most were made by the Cincinnati Advertising Company. But there were probably a dozen different makers back in the day.
