Hi, I just got this can and did many hours of research to find 'nothing'. I saw lots of oil cans, but hardly any Esso gas cans, only one pic on Pinterest of a similar one, that's it. Does anyone have any info as to age, rarity, etc? Many thanks.

Unless this can says "Gasoline - Flammable" on it, I would assume that is a normal 5 gallon oil can in an imperial version. Many oil companies packaged various weight motor oils, transmission and hydraulic fluids in cans like this for many decades. Often the two or four digit year of the manufacture of the can is embossed on the bottom. The specific product was usually stenciled or stamped on the can or had a paper sticker or label or the cap was lettered with the product name and weight.
