Here are two quart oil bottles from Consumer's Oil & Grease Company in the Elk City, OK area....an Elk-O-Lene and a Penn-Bee. Both are in excellent condition.

I'm wondering what the value might be on each of these two bottles. Thanks for any help. John

IMO I am suspicious of those being fakes. I have only seen them in cans and they are just too new looking.

Thanks for taking the time to post, guys. texacokie: Have you ever seen any "fakes" of these bottles? I haven't. No one ever goes to the trouble of making just one or two of a reproduction. We'd all have seen more by now.

As far as the super condition of these rare bottles goes: "Way back when", as in the 1960's and 1970's, it was much easier to find excellent condition examples of even relatively rare gas and oil goodies. And, that's the situation with these two Oklahoma bottles.

These two bottles have fired-on graphics (not paper or painted). Both have been in my collection for over 40 years. They are the real thing, (even if not everyone has seen them before). Now...if I can just get some knowledgeable comments on value! John

They are real deal.
I have both in my collection and have had for many years.
Value is $85 to $100
I would say from the World War two era

I think you may be a little low, it seems the WW2 oil bottles are starting to come strong. I remember buying them for $10.00 to $20.00 back in the old days. Coarse everything was more available and there was more choices. Les

The style bottle was most often used 40's up to about 1960.

Most of the time I see outboard oil bottles versus standard oil.

The quart metal can version of the Elk O Lene brought over $400 at auction. The Penn Bee metal typically sells for $200+

Value for glass may rival those prices or be somewhat less.
