I bought this globe has damage on the base I think there is still enough to mount in a base with some gluing it will hold it its my first globe purchase along with another gulf 13.5 inch lens globe but was wondering thoughts on value with damage on this one thanks for the input it hasn't been cleaned yet
Even broken it is a nice globe !!
appears a lot of the base is gone,
still should display nicely.. ...
with the base in such bad shape, it would be a tough sell. you would be doing it a tremendous favor by buying a repro copper screw base fitting and finding a way to get it onto the globe.
if you were able to do that, i would think around $400 to a gulf collector or someone that has a nice patina pump. maybe even a little more depending on the extent of the damage, which cant be seen real well in your pictures
just my 2 cents
Thanks It is I think it will mount good in a base happy to have it as my first globe purchase along with the other gulf globe I got
Thanks where would be a good place to get the cooper base plan on keeping it
can order from Pergl's catalog...
