1944 GMC Pick Up Truck

Extremely rare ex-military ¾ Ton Street Rod

Unfortunately I have to sell this beauty...

This is a completely restored and modified 1944 GMC pick-up. GMC was not making pick-up trucks for civilians in 1944, due to World War II. They were only making trucks for the war effort, they did not sell any of them at any dealerships, making this a rare military find (converted into a hot rod).

The truck has a V8 350 small block Chevrolet crate motor with only 1400 miles on it, which also comes with a FiTech electronic fuel injection system with electronic controls located in the glovebox. An automatic 700 R4 transmission with a Lokar shifter and sits on Riddler wheels with 245/60/18 Bridgestone tires with 275’s on the back. The truck sits on a 1950 Chevrolet truck frame, with a 10 bolt Trans Am rear end and a Trans Am sub-frame. It has Flowmaster dual split exhaust with Patriot ceramic headers.

The exterior is professionally finished in a slick two-tone Greystone Metallic Silver and Black base/clearcoat candy finish. The interior has custom seats and upholstery with the 1944 GMC logo stitched into the bench seat in complimentary matching colors to the exterior of the truck. The truck also has jet black carpet, sun visors, arm rests and Greystone Metallic Silver painted door panels and dashboard, with Stewart Warner gauges, and an Alpine stereo with Blue Tooth capability. All of the truck’s lights and signals function as they should.

The truck is rounded out with vintage air conditioning, tilt steering, power steering, and front disc brakes.

$79,900 or best offer. Prefer cash on pick-up or a wire transfer that clears before the truck is picked up (transactions can take place at a bank or police station, if preferred). Anyone willing to see the truck in person - send me a pm. I have a lot more pics if you are a serious buyer. Thank you, Steve

Thank you all for the compliments. And Dave, although bittersweet, I have other vehicles on the horizon, so it’s just time to move her along.

Good to know, Steve…looked at a truck similar last year - not nearly as nice, but not a beater either. Guess people were a lot smaller back in the day…I could barely fit…too tall I guess!!
