Hello everyone. Im new on here and trying to find a DX neon spinner clock. My grandpa ran a dx station and his was lost or stolen in storage years ago. Would like to find one for my mom. Thanks .
As I am new to this and have only been looking for this clock a short time it seems to be a unicorn in the gas and oil collecting. I know they exist but never see any for sale. Am i wrong or looking in the wrong places? Im in southern il. Thanks for any info.
Im not sure what all the places ive looked are. The only place Ive ever seen one but was already sold was road relics. Not sure of any other places. Found this site and figured it was worth a shot.
Wow, thats discouraging. I cant find one but since Im not an avid collector I was hoping I just wasnt looking in the rite places. Maybe thats why Ive never been able to track down the actual one from my grandpas station. Im guessing the odds would be better for the lotery.
Since you're willing to settle for a DX spinner clock other than the exact one that was in your grandfather's station.....and, since original DX spinners seem so hard to find: Why not create a reproduction DX spinner clock for yourself for now? Buy one of the similar-looking original OR reproduction spinner clocks out there. The brand or condition of the face wouldn't matter. Then, go to a good, local sign or auto graphics shop, and have them create the simple D-X face graphic for you. I'm only suggesting this, since you seem very driven to want a D-X spinner as soon as possible. I'm not advocating this solution....just suggesting it as a possibility. John
I actually have been wondering if that would be possible. It seems there are none of these clocks out there. If i cant find one anywhere than im sure the one he had in his station will never turn up. I would be fine with a reproduction so to speak as it would never be sold. Im new to all this and have no idea if thats possible or where to even start. Tim
