Can anyone tell me what the primary gasoline brands were for Southern California in the 50's-60's.
Just Curious.
Thanks,
John
Intersting question. Union seems to be a popular early brand from Spokane.
Richfield, Shell, Gilmore to name a few that called L.A. home. Im sure you will get more input on this question.
HANCOCK-NORWALK, SIGNAL, DOUGLAS, SUNSET-GOLDEN EAGLE, MOHAWK, FLYING A, CHEVRON, SHELL, MOBIL, POLLY-WILSHIRE, TEXACO, UNION, RICHFIELD, VELTEX, RIO GRANDE,
PHILLIPS [1966-67]
GILMORE was gone before the end of WW2.

SavinSam,Seaside.

Great Link there Bob ! I looked it over and saw two of my favorites , the Shell shaped Shell in Winston Salem North Carolina and the Castle station in Kansas . Both are spectacular representations of Amercan Ketch archecture . Ed Shaver
They may not have been a "primary"brand, but I think Whiting Brothers had a significant presence on 66 out in the desert during your time frame. The California guys will know.
