My son has a friend that recently restored a 72 Bronco,he put it on Feebay for a "buy it now" for $85,000.Accepted an offer of $80,000.
The guy that bought it sold it on Barrett Jackson Auction for--wait for it !! $270,000!!
Ha, smart buyer who made some nice quick cash! Wow......
I was there watching them cross the block...lots of Broncos were going for $175,000 - $225,000.
190,000 - not a bad days work .. ...
I saw a Bronco sell high and the black and white Blazer that went for $400,000, crazy money.! .
I was bidding on that Bronco.
There were several resto-mod Broncos at Barrett-jackson this year that went for crazy money. They were in response to crazy money from earlier Barrett-Jackson years. I dont get that kind of money for those, but I totally get the attraction to doing up those Broncos. Not much to them.
Thus why FORD is Bringing back the Bronco design & name.
There seems to be a resurgence in this off road vehicle type, although 99.9% of the new FORD Bronco owners, will never take them off the highway.
Broncos and K5's are one of the hottest areas of car collecting right now. I was at Mecum in Kissimmee and I thought that was the craziest auction ever. Then I went to Barrett-Jackson the following week and Barrett-Jackson was definitely the strongest auction in history for cars and memorabilia. Anyone see the sign results...absolutely crazy!!
