Working on a tall 39. The add glass (4) and the door glass has metal strips lined with some type of felt looking material to press between the metal strip and the glass to hold it in place. Is there some sort of material available which I guess can be used to replace the old material. Even if it has to be cut to size and glued onto the strip?
Also in the same areas, the doors and side skins have rounded channels that have a material (rubber?) that the glass presses against. So the glass is sandwiched between the felt and the rounded channel rubber. Is there a product to use for the rounded channel or is a heavy bead of silicone the answer? Thanks, Bob

Rubber U channel is applied to the glass edge and then when the retaining strips are re-attached, the glass is held in a soft seat. The felt can be scrapped off as it is not needed by using this method. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Great alternative solution. A two-fer. One u-channel solves both sides! Thanks Paul.
