Hi
I am new to the forum.
I am hoping someone can tell me what this is and give me any particulars about it.
Please let me know if you need more pictures; I'm happy to upload more.
I have no idea what it is or where to start looking.

Thank you, in advance for any and all assistance👍

I'm pretty sure it's a Gilbert & Barker #6 dated around 1916, sometimes used in Mercantiles to pump kerosene.

Wow, thank you!
I googled Gilbert & Barker and found this site from the Smithsonians National Museum of American History

This Gilbert & Barker Model T-6 is one of the first gasoline pumps that counted the number of gallons pumped. In 1865, Charles Gilbert and John Barker formed a company to manufacture a "gas machine" that vaporized petroleum distillates for lighting systems. Gilbert & Barker later manufactured oil burners for industrial furnaces, and in 1910 the company added hand-operated gasoline pumps to its product line

Refurbishing this is just not an option for me. I don't know it for a fact but I assume that since it's so old, parts would be difficult to find too so they would have to be manufactured; right?
So what are my options? Is there a demand for 100+ year old pumps in need of restoration? Any advise?

Thank you Wasatch Man
A lot of collectors prefer their collections to be aged.. with dignity.

Just need to stop the rust from destroying it...along with finding a new home for it--- but I understand that's for another thread.

The Model 6 was introduced at least as early as 1906. The different versions of the 6 are shown on page 194 and 195 of my Gas Pump Bible identification book. Some very good pictures are shown on this page of my website: http://petrolianacollectibles.com/gb%206.htm

If you need a copy of the parts breakdown and sales literature, they run $8.50 (for both) shipped.
