Hello I was wondering if any one knew a way to fix a globe insert and if so is this one is worth fixing. Thanks
You can try to glue it back together, i collect broken globes and have taken alot of lenses that looked like this and now they sit great in bodies.
What glue do you find best for putting them back together. Thanks, Jacob
Clear 2 part epoxy from the hardware store
I've never done this before, but if I had to I would go with the clear epoxy that K W FRITH said to go with....but since it looks original it might be worth investing in a blank globe to lay the pieces in...to provide the correct shape and hold form while the epoxy dries.
That’s a bummer. That was a fairly rare lens. I’m glad you’re going to try to make it presentable.
I have the other lens and the original ring, thankfully.
Great globe!
When I glue one back together I get a repop lens of the same size, flipped upsidedown in some kind of polystyrene panel or something that will gently hold it. Get a piece of wax paper and put it inside of the repop lens and then start assembling and gluing (from the center out) the broken lens in there on top of the wax paper.
I agree with Dave....that's what I was trying to say he just said it way better LOL...hope it works out!
