I found this photo of a Conoco gas station on the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture website, but the pumps are not at all typical for Conoco. The location is Spokane in 1937. I looked through Jack Sim's latest book (version 3) but I could not find a perfect match. Here is what I am seeing:

1) The trim spears at the bottom of the pump body slightly resemble the Tokheim 36, but the trim around the face plate is not the same.

2) The American 550 has similar trim at the bottom of the face plate - but not on the sides. It also has trim spears at the bottom of the pump body, but not exactly the same.

3) The Bennett 76 has similar trim at the bottom and top of the face plate, but not on the sides. And no trim spears at the bottom of the pump body.

4) The closest I can get is the Hayes AX600 C. The trim spears at the bottom of the pump body are a perfect match. Same for the trim on top and bottom of the face plate (but not sides). And the overhand at the top of the pump seems to match as well.

The Hayes looks to be the closest match (and the first one I have ever seen). Do you guys agree?

Keith: thanks for the photo. It is an excellent shot and confirms the identification perfectly. On your photo I can see the trim on the side of the face plate very clearly. On the photo in Jack Sim's book you almost don't notice it unless you look very closely at the photo.
