Just picked up an old gas station banner, looks to be cloth, pretty dirty - has anyone ever tried cleaning these if so, how? Or should I just let it be?
Thanks,
Wade

Agree 100%, do NOT try to clean it! I have a beautiful Socony banner with Pegasus from 1934 that has a lot of red on it. I tried to spot clean it when I got it and started to see red on my cleaning cloth immediately. Luckily I stopped quick enough that I didn't ruin it. I've never heard of a successful method of cleaning banners personally......

...if the fabric is good, you can use a lint roller to clean the loose stuff...but the inks (dyes?) used on some banners were not that colorfast...
