Hi, any good ideas to display (150) quart oil cans on a wall with wood shelving. ..... Thanks
The neatest display I have seen was the Pontiac museum in Pontiac, IL.
Description: Pontiac MUseum
Looks like plenty of room for 150 on that wall. Heck of a collection!
Whoa! Perfect, thanks for the picture gives me a great start.
A friend of mine uses old soda crates and screws them to the wall. It looks good, unfortunately I don't have a picture but there are several on-line. Go to google images and type "soda crate shelf"
Here are some examples.... you get the idea...
The oil cans at the Pontiac Museum are or were the collection of Tim Dye. He was very active in this hobby plus he was also a Pontiac collector. He was so active in Pontiacs that he became the creator of the Pontiac Museum In Pontiac, Illinois.
Tim was a writer for 'Check the Oil" and a very good friend of Ed Love, they worked together with Ed's publications the "Tiger Rag" and "Tiger Royal" both publication about this hobby. For a short time Tim had his own magazine called "Tiger Highest."
I believe Tim was from Tulsa, OK and sponsored a swap meet in Tulsa for a few years.
A nicer guy you will never meet.
