hello, I recently picked up the frame for a 6ft plastic gulf sign the tag on frame dates it in the 80's it looks like piece on bottom where it would bolt to the pole was a light gray color but im not %100 sure anybody have any idea what color these were originally?? any info is appreciated, still on the hunt for a pole started with buying one plastic gulf lens then found frame with no lens but guy wouldn't sell the pole.

Here are a couple different frame styles. Most look to be white

ok thanks wasn't sure im guessing mine is just dirty most of it is flaked off still need to get a pole and the other lens.

...I've seen that grey color - it was just a color they used later on, in the 80s...white would be a safe bet...at some point the lower part of the pole would have been blue, to the base...

...what you can see of the frame/pole in this pretty cool 1964 Gulf '4 Power' No-Nox commercial is white - the retaining ring, that held the sign on the frame, appears to have been blue:
