Hi All, Looking for advice to try to stop and remove the corrosion while bringing back some of the color on this Autolite cabinet. I've seen people talk about using Muriatic Acid on white signs and it having made a major difference in restoring the finish and taking way the rust, but do you mix it? Use it straight then rinse with water? How long do you leave it on there before you wash it off? I'm afraid I'll ruin it even more.

I would not do it on painted metal. I have some super strong pool grade I have used on porcelain signs. Only leave on about 8 minutes rinse with soap and water twice then wax and buff. Use in open air area and don't breath it.

Use "Mothers Mag Wheel polish". Its like a buffing compound but is very mild. Use with a soft rag or shop towel and it will do as good a job as anything.
