I picked up a G&B pump thinking that it was either a model 904 or 906. On inspection of the ID tag, the model is 1004-36L. I don't find a reference to a 1004 in Jack's book, unless I am overlooking it. The only difference I see between the 904 and 906 models and the 1004 is that the 1004 doesn't have an ad glass window below the face plate. Can someone provide more information on the G&B 1004 or direct me to the page on which it appears in Jack's book? Thanks.

A picture of one door panel from the 1004 is included below.

You are correct, the 1004 is not shown in my book, mainly because I didn't have a picture of it. The 1004 is identical to the 1002 except the 1004 has a hose that retracts on a cable.

But....according to my literature the picture shown above is not a 1004, it is from the 904 Series.....but it doesn't exactly match the 904 in that the window is longer and there is no ad glass panel.

So, what is it? How about posting more pictures, this might help?

The 1000 series Gilbarco`s were redesigned so not sure why your I.D. tag says 1004. Here is a 1000 series Gilbarco. The I.D. tag is missing off this one. I did think it was a 1002 or 1004. The station lighter on it is for a Wayne 70/100.

I compared the extra pictures to the 904-906 Parts list I have. It is a 904, everything matches except the door. The 904 and the 906 both have ad glass panels and the window is shorter.

One thing I noticed, your pump originally had a sight glass that came out in the middle of the "V." It appears that the sight glass it self was removed and a plate put over the opening. This was done on many pumps when they decided they didn't need the sight glass anymore.

Could this possibly be a Canadian pump???
Could this have been a special order made by Standard who didn't want ad panels????

Not in the 1000 series.

I have only seen one other 904/906 pump with no ad glass and it is an original California pump. I hope to get it one day because I like it without the ad glass.

That Wayne station lighter looks good on that Gilbarco. I like it a lot...I think, I'll being putting one on one of my Gilbarco 1000 series pumps.
