Hey guys,

Picked up the exide and federal tire signs earlier, and ended up taking a chance on a Quaker State tombstone sign. Only issue is someone painted over both sides, any suggestions on the best way to approach this? Some of it is flaking off but some is solid

Thanks for any input, the Quaker State is just the metal version not the older porcelain.

Type:

remove paint

into the Google Custom Search form at the top right corner of this page. On the search results page you'll see several helpful topics. Much different procedure for porcelain and painted signs.

Thanks Jim, seems like the consensus is be very careful and have a lot of patience. Going to start with some mild options and see how the quaker state holds up

If it was porcelain i'd be golden, hard to hurt that
